This site is the booking presence for Charlotte Burslem, a Portland bagpiper. Charlotte is a minor, so the business and everything described here is run by her parent and guardian, Joel Burslem ("we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you contact us, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
When you submit the quote request form or contact us, we collect the information you choose to give us: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), event type, event date, location or venue, and anything you add in the message field. We only collect what you send us. We do not run advertising pixels, we do not use your data for ad targeting, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Why we collect it
We use this information for one purpose: to respond to your inquiry, prepare a quote, and arrange a booking if you go ahead. We may keep your details on file to manage your booking, send a confirmation and a thank-you afterward, and answer follow-up questions. If you do not book, we do not need to keep your inquiry indefinitely and will remove it on request.
How your information is handled
This is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you submit the form, it is processed by Cloudflare and delivered to us by email through a third-party email service. Those providers process your data only to deliver your message to us. We use a privacy-respecting spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) and a hidden anti-spam field rather than tracking cookies or invasive CAPTCHAs.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site (for example, which pages they visit and where they arrived from), so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device, and browser. We run it for analytics only: advertising features and cross-site tracking are turned off, and we do not link this data to the personal information you submit in the form. Google processes this data on our behalf; see Google's privacy policy for how they handle it. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Sharing
We do not share your information with third parties except the service providers above that are needed to receive and respond to your message, or where we are legally required to. We never sell your data.
Children
This site advertises the services of a minor performer but is intended for and operated by adults arranging a booking. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. All booking communication is with a parent or guardian.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email joel@burslem.ca or call or text (971) 228-5704 and we will take care of it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
